HIV remains a significant public health challenge globally, given an estimate of 1.9 million people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Nigeria, programmatic data has shown oversaturation of ART services. However, new infections are still being reported even in the states that are oversaturated with ART services. This concern brought about the ART impact assessment survey (AIS) which will be used to assess the country’s achievement towards UNAIDS 95-95-95, the coverage and impact of HIV services in Nigeria.
The ART Impact Survey (AIS) protocol review meeting, which was held on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, provided a platform for PHIS3 along with stakeholders to review the survey protocol and discuss key aspects related to the implementation of the survey. The primary objective of the meeting was to review and adopt the finalized protocol.
